At times, as much as we hope never, there is severe weather and we need to move our TOB show inside to protect students, instruments, and audience members. When this happens, the "show will go on" but under a slightly different format. Bands will still perform, usually in the school auditorium or gymnasium.
Our Tournament rules for the "indoor show" are slightly different - especially scoring. Due to limited, if not impossible, visual/movement opportunities, no visual scores will be recorded. Music scores, minus the visual/movement aspect, are used to determine placement only. Bands will be awarded placements, without a publically announced score - as these are not true TOB music scores. When bands stand still, the movement/visual part of each caption is not present or available to assess. The marching band becomes a concert band for this type event.
Our schools still have the opportunity to host guests and fans, in a different format from the typical field/stadium presentation. Bands still have the opportunity to perform for their fans and families.
TOB show hosts spend months planning and organizing fall events - and we truly appreciate their efforst to support music and arts in their schools. Please support all TOB show hosts at all events this season. And let's all chant together: "NO MORE RAIN, NO MORE RAIN!"
